Get To Know Me!

Hi, I’m Melissa Cartwright I’m a third year student at UVic. I’m originally from Langley, BC. I’m in the faculty of Human and Social Development studying Health Information Science. I spent my first two years are UVic studying Biology before switching into my new faculty. My degree will offer me many career opportunities, but my dream career is to be a data analyst for the Ministry of Health.

This is my first time taking summer courses at the university. I usually spend my summers working, but because of COVID-19 I was unable to find a job. The past two summers I went back to my hometown and did landscaping.

In my free time I like to stay active, I’ve recently taken up kickboxing and have been doing that for the past year. I also play ice hockey and have since I was a child. I still play on a co-ed intramural team with the university. I also enjoy art, when I have time I like to paint and draw.
